Golf : Our challenging course was designde by Pete Dye and is a must play when visiting the Monterey Peninsula. The course is relatively flat on the front nine and meanders along the river. The back nine is heavily forested and features dramatic elevations changes from tee to fairway. Tee times are a premium at The Ranch so reservations are recommended as early as possible. Golf Packages - carts are required - no charge - included in green fees and packages. Driving Range - complimentary with round of golf. Yardage - 6234 Par - 70. Hours of operations for golf course varies per season. Usually it opens around 6:30AM year round but the closing time depends on the daylight and would close around 5:30PM during winter seasons. Tennis : The tennis club at The Ranch consists of French chalets and blooming flowers throughout the area and the pro's will even assist with finding you a game during your visit. Horse Riding : Guests can horseback ride at Holman Ranch which is 8 miles away from Carmel Valley Ranch. Guests must provide their own transportation to Holman Ranch. Shuttle service is not available. Enjoy rides through oak-studded hills with panoramic views of the Carmel countryside along secluded trails. Holman Ranch Fees: 1 hour ride $40 per person ages 10 years and older. 2 hour ride $60 per person ages 14 years and older. Children 10-13 years of age can not do the 2 hour ride. For Children 5-10 years of age - 1/2 hour ride in arena is $30 per person. 1 hour ride in arena is $50 per person. Guests can also ride in Pebble Beach which is 30 minutes away at the Pebble Be Equestrian Center. They offer more extensive rides and have a very exclusive riding area. Some of the rides they offer are along the scenic and famous 17 mile drive and the rugged Pacific coastline. These rides are not directly on the beach, but have views of the coastline. Hiking : Let one of the Carmel Valley Ranch guides lead you through some of the most beautiful and diverse landscape in the world. Bring your camera on your choice of a variety of hikes that are sure to leave you with lasting memories of the hidden natural beauty of the peninsula. Options include: 1) a high line hike winding through diverse vegetation with ridge-top views of Carmel valley and the surrounding area, 2) a coastal path leading through wooded forests, cypress groves, rugged shoreline and peaceful coves, (a great place to see marine mammals), and 3) a Big-Sur hike past hills of cacti, through redwood forests, along a fresh-water stream and up a rocky-ridge trail or along the coastal bluffs. All hikes include transportation, water and a snack. Difficulty levels vary from gentle to strenuous.
Monterey Bay Aquarium : More than 100 galleries and exhibits re-create the bay's many habitats, from shallow tide pools to the vast open ocean. A million-gallon indoor ocean, viewed through the largest window on Earth go eye-to-eye with more than 300,000 strange and colorful creatures. Self-serve and full-service dining/gift and bookstores are located inside the institution.
Monterey Wine Country Tours : Experience the remarkable wines and breathtaking vineyards of Monterey Wine County. This world-renowned area compresses a collection of unique regions that share exceptional characteristics for the creation of superior wines. Full tours are available with advance reservations. Chateau Julian is within 5 minutes of the ranch and is located on 16 acres. The winery was founded in 1982 by Bob & Patty Brower. Tours and wine tasting: Mon-Fri 8:30-5 Sat/Sun 11-5.
Cannery Row : One of the America's most famous streets. Here, hard working Chinese, Portuguese, Italians, Japanese, and Scandinavians-whalers, fisherman, and cannery owners struggled to enhance their lives and build a thriving industry. The historic street is being preserved and restored and now provides access to beaches, retail stores, restaurants and galleries. 8 miles NW of the resort.

Pebble Beach Golf Links : 18 holes of challenging golf, home of the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am, to stay at The Lodge at Pebble Beach to secure a tee time. Course statistics: 18 holes, Par 72, Championship rating 74.4, yards: 6,799. Designed by Jack Neville and Douglas Grant.
